Hello World!!
It's been taking considerably longer to bounce back after a tour. It's all good. I have better breaks between tours this year but I must admit, I hate it!! 😂

Because of so much time off, I've become quite lazy keeping up with my bimonthly haircuts. I trimmed around the sides to give it more shape but it's been a minute since I've let it get long enough for the curls to return. Since Lolet decided to turn into a boogawoosh about the head, I thought I'd join the party 🥳🎉🥳

Tunie and I had an amazing time, once again with our buddies in Quintus !✨✨

Our tour ended today and Tiny Monster and I are at the airport to begin our journey home. The travel for this week is with SAS so we have to go via Oslo. We've got a short layover and then home to Ålesund. I'm relieved to know that the massive fire that was burning at the end of the city is now under control. Quite a few friends have contacted me to find out if Fuzzy and I are okay. We are.

This was a scary situation. Preparedness was the saving grace with this fire. In 1904, a fire blazed in Ålesund that burned the city to ashes. That's a history no one ever wants to see in repetition.

My little old lady is worn out and ready to be home ✨

'Tis a most rude hour. I'm functioning on a handful of sleep and I am feeling it! 2 years ago after getting new meds I've been sleeping quite well. Trying to be a productive member of society with 3-5 hours of sleep is less than ideal.

Okay! Back to the matter at hand. Yesterday I pinked up my ever growing curls and did my nails, inspired by some artwork my friend, Jules created. Petunia and I were up before the chickens to jump on the airport shuttle. We'll fly Ålesund - Oslo - Trondheim. Part 2 of the DKS school concerts begin today with a seminar and then a concert.

It's been a while since I've made this kind of post.

The Magical Floof and I are at the airport, waiting for our flight home. Of course it's been delayed twice, but such is life. We're both worn out, but happily so✨✨🎵🎶🎵

We're on the road with our last school concert for this part of the tour. I'll be joining forces again with my Cozy Comrades in Quintus for another tour from 15 March. I'll have a week at home to regroup and refresh. I'm taking things a bit slower this year. Bompbompbomp yeah yeah 🎶🎵🎶🎵✨✨

Teedy's Black History Fact Of The Day!

Arna Wendell Bontemps October 13, 1902 – June 4, 1973

Arna Bontemps was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, the son of Creole parents. His father was a skilled brick mason who moved his family to Los Angeles when Arna was three years old. Tension developed between father and son when Arna refused to be apprenticed as a mason. He was sent away to a white boarding school in San Fernando with his father’s command not to “go up there acting colored.” Unhappy at what he saw as his father’s effort to make him forget his racial heritage, Bontemps went on to Pacific Union College in Angwin, California, graduating in 1923.

A year later, Bontemps began to publish his poetry in magazines such as The Crisis and Opportunity, which encouraged the work of young African American writers. He had hoped to study for a Ph.D. in English, but after his marriage in 1926 and the subsequent birth of six children, he accepted teaching jobs to support his family. In 1926 he moved to New York City to teach at the Harlem Academy for five years, a period in which he was also close to several important figures of the Harlem Renaissance, including Langston Hughes and Jean Toomer. In 1931 he published his first book, God Sends Sunday, a novel about a black St. Louis jockey. That year Bontemps moved to Huntsville, Alabama, to teach at Oakwood Junior College.

He grew frustrated at trying to reach his own generation and decided to write to younger readers, “not yet insensitive to man’s inhumanity to man.” For the remaining forty years of his life, Bontemps wrote biographies, children’s fiction, and black history, and compiled literary anthologies, often in collaboration with his close friends Langston Hughes and Jack Conroy. In 1943, after completing a master’s degree in library science, he served until his retirement as head librarian at Fisk University, developing an archive of African American cultural materials that is a major resource for study in this field.

I've had some tough weeks but I'm trying to keep my mind busy and creative to stay out of, The Dark Place.

I've been making quite a few custom press-on nail sets for folk who want the extra finger bling for special occasions. While I'm doing that, cooking, revamping my website and getting myself together for singing next week, I watch the Winter Olympics. I've been a WO junkie for quite a long time. It doesn't matter the sport. I'm watching on HBO Max, Eurosport. Because it's the Eurosport broadcast it's usually someone from the UK as commentator. I'm watching the freestyle sking and before one of the athletes did his run, the commentator said, "He was up early for a wake and bake for this match today!" 😐😐😐 Uh...I don't think he knows what that means...🫠

Teedy's Black History Fact Of The Day!

Fannie Lou Hamer

(October 6, 1917 – March 14, 1977) was an American voting and women's rights activist, community organizer, and a leader in the civil rights movement. She was the vice-chair of the Freedom Democratic Party, which she represented at the 1964 Democratic National Convention. Hamer also organized Mississippi's Freedom Summer along with the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). She was also a co-founder of the National Women's Political Caucus, an organization created to recruit, train, and support women of all races who wish to seek election to government office.

Hamer sought equality across all aspects of society. In Hamer's view, African Americans were not technically free if they were not afforded the same opportunities as whites, including those in the agricultural industry. Sharecropping was the most common form of post-slavery activity and income in the South. The New Deal era expanded so that many blacks were physically and economically displaced due to the various projects appearing around the country. Hamer did not wish to have blacks be dependent on any group for any longer; so, she wanted to give them a voice through an agricultural movement.
Hamer died of complications from hypertension and breast cancer on March 14, 1977, aged 59, at Taborian Hospital, Mound Bayou, Mississippi. She was buried in her hometown of Ruleville, Mississippi. Her tombstone is engraved with one of her famous quotes, "I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Fred Jones

Inventor, Fred Jones’ contributions during his lifetime were momentous and can be felt to this day. A naturally gifted mechanic, Jones was self-taught, which helped him to invent a portable air-conditioning unit for trucks in 1938. This unit could be used to preserve perishable foods during transport, and the patents Jones was awarded for the product led to the formation of the Thermo King Corporation. His inventions were increasingly vital during WWII when they were used to transport blood and medicine to battlefields and hospitals.

I'm bouncing back to slightly less than dumpster fire one week after the first infusion. I'm stir crazy and add in the fact that I've been home since November, so I've had the overactive crazy brain at work. To keep my mind calm I've been in the Cone Of Chaos nail studio creating sets of nails to test new techniques and for some friends who have asked me for some party, press-on sets. After about 4 sets, I thought it would be a great idea 💡 (insert side eye here) to try out the box of XXL stiletto tips on myself with Valentine's Day decorations. 😐 I've worn XL for a little over a year but this length seems like a big jump in size. I've always functioned well with long nails but these..... madness!😂😂😬

Punxsutawney Phil is the name of a groundhog in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. On February 2 (Groundhog Day) each year, the town of Punxsutawney celebrates the legendary groundhog with a festive atmosphere of music and food. During the ceremony, which begins well before the winter sunrise, Phil emerges from his temporary home on Gobbler's Knob, located in a rural area about 2 miles (3 km) south-east of town. According to the tradition, if Phil sees his shadow and returns to his hole, he has predicted six more weeks of winter-like weather. If Phil does not see his shadow, he has predicted an "early spring." The date of Phil's prognostication is known as Groundhog Day in the United States and Canada, and has been celebrated since 1887. Punxsutawney Phil became an international celebrity thanks to the 1993 movie Groundhog Day.

First Black Lawyer: John Mercer Langston was the first black man to become a lawyer when he passed the bar in Ohio in 1854. When he was elected to the post of Town Clerk for Brownhelm, Ohio, in 1855 Langston became one of the first African Americans ever elected to public office in America. John Mercer Langston was also the great-uncle of Langston Hughes, famed poet of the Harlem Renaissance.

Good Tuesday Morning, ThunderCats! HOOOOOOO!

First, my heartfelt thanks to all of the wonderful well wishes yesterday. The treatment went as planned yesterday. The side effects are as expected so far; sore throat, massive headache and nausea. We're heading home now so that I may feel like a dumpster fire in my own space☺️☺️

I'm hopeful that this will prevent any new symptoms from showing up to dull my shine ✨✨

I'm checked in and in triage before I head into a treatment room to begin my first round of immunotherapy infusions. Fuzzy and Petunia are heading to the hotel. We decided to stay overnight since the infusion will last between 4.5-6 hours. I must admit, I'm anxious.

I'm gonna feel like wet garbage but hopefully the infusions will help with controlling new symptoms from showing up.

Let's get it going!✨✨

Good morning my Angelic Apricots!

I spend time scrolling through reels. Because of the things I pause and watch, my algorithm features; nail art, cooking, comedy and animals.
I actively avoid the chaos of our current reality. Why? Because I have enough emotions filling my thoughts. Trying to navigate my increasing difficulties with mobility, constant pain and discomfort. My brain is also filled with having to reduce my touring to undergo treatments and therapies. It is not ideal to be a freelance artist who can't work.

I've been finding myself watching the bhikkhu traveling thousands of miles to ask the universe for peace. I watch, I cry and I cry. Seeing women, men and children, lining the edges of their path to offer flowers , water, fruit and thanks. I cry more. Is the desire for peace really asking too much?

I have been a part of 2 lovely days of music with my sugarbabies in YSJE. We began with our annual New Year concert for the Pensionist Foundation and then the first of two concerts with Sunnivakoret. After over 20 years, this will be the final weekend of starting our New Year with this beautiful group of humans. I've developed lifelong friendships with these lovely people. Our final concert is tomorrow in Nordfjordeid. 'Tis bittersweet.

Right now I'm attempting to enjoy a grilled cheese sammich but I have the sammich gremlin eyeballing me...

Twelfth Night

Twelfth Night (also known as Epiphany Eve) is a Christian festival on the last night of the Twelve Days of Christmas, marking the coming of the Epiphany. Different traditions mark the date of Twelfth Night as either 5 January or 6 January, depending on whether the counting begins on Christmas Day or 26 December.
A superstition in some English-speaking countries suggests it is unlucky to leave Christmas decorations hanging after Twelfth Night, a tradition also variously attached to the festivals of Candlemas (2 February), Good Friday, Shrove Tuesday, and Septuagesima. Other popular customs include eating king cake, singing Christmas carols, chalking the door, having one's house blessed, merrymaking, and attending church services.

In many Western ecclesiastical traditions, Christmas Day is considered the "First Day of Christmas" and the Twelve Days are 25 December – 5 January, inclusive, making Twelfth Night on 5 January, which is Epiphany Eve. In some customs, the Twelve Days of Christmas are counted from sundown on the evening of 25 December until the morning of 6 January, meaning that the Twelfth Night falls on the evening 5 January and the Twelfth Day falls on 6 January. However, in some church traditions only full days are counted, so that 5 January is counted as the Eleventh Day, 6 January as the Twelfth Day, and the evening of 6 January is counted as the Twelfth Night. In these traditions, Twelfth Night is the same as Epiphany. However, some such as the Church of England consider Twelfth Night to be the eve of the Twelfth Day (in the same way that Christmas Eve comes before Christmas), and thus consider Twelfth Night to be on 5 January. Christmastime in Norway

Jul or jol is the term used for the Christmas holiday season in Scandinavia and parts of Scotland. The concept of "jul" was a period of time rather than a specific event prevailing in Scandinavia. In modern times, "Jul" is a general time stretching from mid-November to mid-January, with Christmas and the week up to New Year as the highlight. The modern English yule and yuletide derive from this term.

The term "Jul" is common throughout Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Greenland, Denmark, Scotland and the Faroe Islands.

Whereas the start of "jul" proper is announced by the chiming of church bells throughout the country in the afternoon of 24 December, it is more accurate to describe the season as an eight-week event. It consists of five phases: Advent, Julaften, Romjul, Nyttår, and The End of Christmas, very often with Epiphany, the thirteenth day of Christmas, as the final day of the season. From the original beginning on Christmas Day, the custom of Julebord has spread to the entire season and beyond, often beginning well in advance of December.

The modern day celebration is largely based on the Church year and has retained several pre-Reformation and pre-Christian elements.

The central event in Scandinavia is Christmas Eve (julaften), when the main Christmas meal is served and gifts are exchanged. This might be due to the old Germanic custom of counting time in nights, not days (e.g. "forthnight"), as it holds for other holidays like Midsummer Eve (Jonsok, lit. "Wake of St. John") and St. Olavs Mass (Olsok, lit. "Wake of St. Olav"), with the main celebration on the eve of the official Church day.

Second Advent Sunday 💜💜

It's just below freezing today, but we have clear, blue skies and it's beautiful out. Fuzzy will be heading to Ellingsøy later today for yet another Holiday Concert with the choir!✨✨ They had the first concert on Wednesday, second on Friday and their third today. This is giving me endless smiles.🎄🎄☃️☃️

Petunia is generally a relaxed and groovy creature. She's trained to be with me, which also includes being able to sit through travel, rehearsals and concerts. She takes it all in stride, usually while half asleep. The one thing that gets her really worked up? Any animal on television. Any animal; dogs, cats, rhinoceroses, alligators, ducks, guinea pigs, wombats, howler monkeys, anything. Here's the really dumb part. She also wants to annihilate cartoon animals and drawings or photographs of animals. It's ridiculous.

I just had to tell her to lay down and hush because she was trying to attack the television to destroy the horse mascot for a Norwegian online betting company.🫤 He's literally standing up like a person AND he's animated!!!
This is why we can't watch nature shows.
